After leaving school, Kieran worked in various jobs in various industries. He was accepted to study as a mature student at Liverpool Polytechnic graduated in 1977.
Kieran is a duty solicitor, a Higher Court Advocate in Crime and a member of the Liverpool Law Society Criminal Practice Committee; he is also an accredited assessor with a training organisation dealing with advocacy and police station accreditation.
